HISTORY OF THE YRBM 17
The YRBM 17 was originally the YFNB-24 and was towed from Yokosuka Japan to Vung Tau in March 1967.
The YFNB-24 was moved after a short stay from Vung Tau to Dong Tam also in March 1967 and renamed the YRBM 17.
The YRBM 17 was there until at least 1970
The big floating crane in the background was used to lift the boats out of the water and onto pontoons for hull repairs. The crane was the 100 ton YD-220.
The pontoons next to the 17 were sinkable and were used like drydocks to get the boats out of the water for repairs.

The person on the pontoon is named Stribling
He ischumming the fish with bread.
They never tied to catch any fish but were awed at some of weird things that came up to eat the bread.
